Google Apps is an online suite of cloud-based applications, providing your home or business with web-based email, calendar, documents, sites and many more services. It allows you to access your information and services from any device anywhere in the world via the Internet. You don’t need to purchase any hardware or software; once setup has been completed administration is minimal. This provides tremendous time- and cost-savings for your business. Google Apps offers a cloud-based solution that is constantly being updated.

The main applications provided by Google Apps are: Gmail for Business, Calendar, Docs and Drive. Other services Google offers, such as YouTube, Google+ and Adwords are all part of the Google Apps suite. There are many applications provided, some of which you may not need and can therefore be disabled and enabled as required. Google also has a Marketplace where you can get new Apps to enable you to carry out your tasks.

Email from Google
Gmail for Business is the email application provided by Google Apps. Your email is accessible on any device that’s connected to the Internet, anywhere in the world. Your inbox has plenty of storage (25GB) so there’s no need to delete any emails. If you access your emails on multiple devices, all email is synchronised across the devices, meaning if you send or reply to an email on one device you’ll be able to view it on your other device within a few seconds. If you prefer to use Microsoft Outlook to manage your email, calendar or tasks, you can use the Google Apps sync for Microsoft Outlook to synchronise with Google Apps.

Google Calendar
Google Calendar is the calendar application provided by Google Apps. It enables you to view your calendar on a device connected to the Internet anywhere in the world. Your calendar will synchronize with your computer, tablet, mobile, or any other device you use to access the internet. If you enable the service you can have your schedule for the day emailed to you or sent via text message. You can even include a Google Map of the location of the appointment if you’re uncertain of how to get there.

Google Docs
Google Docs allows you to create and edit word-processed documents, spreadsheets, presentations and drawings online without the need to purchase additional software. You can upload any file you require, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, pictures, PDFs and more, allowing you to access and edit these documents anywhere in the world on any device connected to the internet.

You can collaborate with your colleagues on a document in real time anywhere in the world. When you connect to the Internet, any changes you or your colleagues have made will be automatically synced with Google Apps.

Offline Docs enables you to view and edit documents without being connected to the Internet.

Using Google Cloud Connect you can continue to use your version of Microsoft Office and all changes are synchronized with Google Docs.

Google Sites
Google Sites allows you and your organization to create secure web pages for intranets and team projects with no coding knowledge required, enabling you to build sites that exactly match your requirements.

You or your colleagues may wish to build a knowledge base, intranet, or another type of website; Google Sites allows all related information to be quickly and simply found.

Google Sites is securely powered by Google Apps, so you and your colleagues can access company pages from your desk, on the road, at home and on your mobile phone; basically anywhere you have an Internet connection.

Google Drive
Google Drive synchronizes your documents between computers and Google Docs. You can access your files via the Google Drive online, so as long as you have an Internet connection you’ll be able to access, edit and share your documents wherever you are.
