Microsoft Windows 7 Service Patch 1

From the 9th April 2013 if you don’t have Service Patch 1 installed on your computer. Windows Updates will fail to install any security and performance updates for your computer. Service Pack 1 came out about two years ago, so it is more than likely it will already be installed on your computer.

To make sure Service Patch 1 is installed.

  • Go to the Start menu
  • Right-click on Computer
  • Choose Properties
  • At the top of this window, under the label Windows Edition, Service Pack 1 will be listed if you already have it installed.

If Service Pack 1 is not listed, If is easy to install.

 

  • Go to Start menu
  • Select All Programs
  • Choose Windows Update.
  • On the left hand side, click Check for updates.

After it is done checking, look at the list of available updates. If you see Service Pack for Microsoft Windows (KB976932), click OK.
Proceed to Install Updates and follow the instructions on your screen.
